Broughton Park 2nd XV vs Burnage – Match Report

Broughton Park’s 2nd XV delivered a committed performance last weekend in a tightly contested fixture played under clear Saturday skies. The early kick-off set the pace for an energetic encounter between two well‑matched sides.

Burnage started the stronger of the two, controlling territory for much of the first half and keeping Park pinned deep. Despite the pressure, Broughton Park showed great efficiency when chances opened up, breaking through to score well‑worked tries that kept them firmly in the contest.

After the interval, Park stepped up the intensity. Improved field position and sustained pressure created a competitive second half, with much of the play battled out in the middle third. Both teams pushed hard for momentum, and the match remained finely balanced throughout.

In the final stages, Burnage edged ahead, sealing a narrow 31–33 victory. Although the result was frustrating, Broughton Park can take plenty of positives from a determined display, with strong individual contributions and encouraging phases of play to build on in the coming weeks.
